Last week was, in a word, exhausting. Fatigue still continues to be one of the main side effects I'm experiencing and my doc says that will compound as the treatments continue. The good news is I seem to tolerate the chemotherapy very well. There was a rough patch last week on the 2nd day after … Continue reading Round 1 Done
Doing better
I rallied yesterday afternoon and have been feeling much better. Nausea is managed and I've got an appetite. Still super fatigued.
Two days after
Feeling a bit more nauseous today with a fair amount of gas pain. Managing as best I can. Thank goodness my bed is gloriously comfortable.
The Day After
So far, I'm feeling good. My doc gave me a host of anti-nausea medication and they seem to be doing their job. I've been able to eat on schedule. I'm SUPER tired, so I'm sticking close to bed today and watching some Netflix. Update 2:05pm - My afternoon meal is telling me something! Chicken noodle … Continue reading The Day After

If you want to follow along, I'll update as I can. Discharge today is a go! 9:30am - hydration begins. 500mL. The bag has been refrigerated so its an interesting sensation in my veins. Feels like I have an ice pack on my forearm. 10:20am - numbing cream put on port area. Its located beneath … Continue reading IP Play by Play
And it begins…
I started a blog post yesterday explaining the process of how there are quite a few pre-medications they give me before they actually begin chemo. This includes pepcid, zofran, and benadryl. Welp, the bendryl knocked me out completely. Which, I suppose, isn't so bad in the grand scheme of things. I slept through my 1st … Continue reading And it begins…
Fancy
None of the waiting for gas to pass this time around. They're feeding me! Had lunch waiting for me too! Again, its the little things. Chemo starts momentarily. They're doing the premeds right now: pepcid, zofran, and benadryl. Then the taxol begins.
Tomorrow
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away in Downtown San Diego. Saturday was spent exploring Balboa Park with a dinner at Stone Brewery in Liberty Station (highly recommend a visit to this or their other location in Escondido if you've never had the opportunity). Sunday was spent with some friends and Monday was spent sleeping. Ha! … Continue reading Tomorrow
Surgery & Other Things
My port install & first round of chemo is set for Wednesday, January 20. I'm assuming I'm the first case since they are to give me chemo that day via IV, but I won't find out until my pre-op appointment this week. I have a post-op appointment (standard procedure) but it's the day after my … Continue reading Surgery & Other Things
Two Weeks
Had the 2nd post-op visit with the doc and got more information about what's coming. She's put the request for surgery in, and the head of the department (Dr. Tewari) will book it. I should hear from scheduling this week with final dates, but we're aiming for 2 weeks from now (either Monday or Wednesday). … Continue reading Two Weeks
