I'm so happy, I could cry. LMAO.
I TOOTED!
I'm so happy, I could cry. LMAO.
Never thought I'd be so anxious to fart. Because it's the weekend, my regular docs are not available. I spoke with the on-call gyno who assures me that this waiting is completely normal. As long as I don't experience nausea and vomiting, we're good. It's just going to take time. The bowels freeze when they … Continue reading The Waiting Continues…
... is to fart. That's what's holding everything up. Ugh. Send tooting vibes today. Update 12/26/15 8:00am - still no toots. Will be talking with the doc to determine plan of action since I'm now losing weight. The IV can only provide so much.
'Walking and sleeping' was the theme for today in spite of waking with a fever of 102.2. This was due to a condition called atelectasis, where the lungs don't quite expand enough after surgery and cause the immune system to react. She used her little breathing device every time after five walks today (the last … Continue reading These Boots Are Made For Walkin’…
Hi everyone! Jess had an awesome day yesterday. She was able to get out of bed four times and even made a lap of the area outside her room by the end of the day. She started with a walker and only went about 30 feet, and ended with an unassisted full lap! Strong! She … Continue reading Baby steps…pffft.

I crashed on the little sofa (thanks Sol and Mariel for the REI sleeping pad, that saved my back). This morning, they … Continue reading Baby Steps
First of all, thank you all for the positive texts and comments. I'm sure Jessica will be stoked for all the positive intent coming her way. I know I am. Jessica is resting at the moment. She was pretty alert in spite of the drugs and even cracked a couple of jokes. The nurse is … Continue reading Resting

The doc found that the mass was, in fact cancerous (more specifics from pathology analysis later this week) and a full hysterectomy was performed along with the removal of the gallbladder. Turns out, the cancer had spread to and wrecked the other ovary by … Continue reading Update #2
Just got a call from the staff with a brief update from the doc, 'everything is going well, but it will be a couple more hours.' The waiting continues... Strange self-playing piano.
Just met the team. Nurses are all super nice and professional. The anesthesiologist has a great sense of humor and just administered the "happy juice". Jess is off to have the big pre-surgery discussion and they will begin shortly thereafter.
