First, the CA-125 result wasn't as dramatic as previous results. But I'm still in a downward trend, with an additional point lost. The doc said results would slow. I'm hoping I get into the teens by the end of treatment, but I'll take anything in the normal range. Some photos from the day:
With only two (TWO!) rounds left, a lot of folks have been asking "What happens next?" Well, that brings us back into the unknown. Once I complete chemo, I'm done! No radiation is anticipated. Upon completion of the 6th round, I'll get a new CT scan. If (when) that comes back clear, they'll schedule surgery … Continue reading What’s Next?
Time has been a funny thing these past few months. I can't believe I'm done with the 4th of 6 rounds (66.6666666...% complete!) and simultaneously, time seems to stand still. Or life does, in a way. The first week of treatment feels like wading through mud with the nausea and a wacko sleep schedule. I'm … Continue reading Round 4 Done!
The side effects are starting earlier and earlier each round apparently. Pretty nauseous today and my bowels aren't too happy either. Ah well. This will pass. In other news, I'm still in need of drivers next week on Wednesday. Any takers? I'll post round 5 (!!!!) dates this weekend.
Today's chemo socks and chemo blanket. 🙂
... be so constipated that you poop a couple of deer pellets every 4 days or be so nauseous that any position besides horizontal will do? Tough choice, huh? Side note: That link does NOT go to a photo of poop, rather a podcast that talks about the Bristol Stool Scale and other interesting poop … Continue reading Would you rather…
Yesterday completed the 3rd day of my 3rd round of chemo. Woo-freakin'-hoo! The chemo side effects are noticeably cumulative. Post-cisplatin was the worst I've felt of all the rounds. The nausea is overwhelming, even with the medication from my doc and the medical marijuana. I have a follow-up with the doc tomorrow, so I will … Continue reading Halfway Done & Coming Clean
Yesterday was not bad. Definitely tired and nauseous. Today is more of the same. Trying to manage the nausea as best as possible. About time for a nap.
Its a much different process getting infusion at the hospital (the infusion center couldn't accommodate since my week got pushed). The morning begins waiting for the hospital to call to say they have a room available. As luck would have it, they called at 8am. Arrived by 9, but hit the first wall: doc's orders … Continue reading IP at the hospital
