Level Achieved: Pre-Op Medical Clearance This evening, I met with a physician in internal medicine to clear me for surgery. They basically want to make sure my heart isn't going to stop suddenly (confirmed by the EKG), and that I don't have any other medical issues that may pop up. My oncologist told me its a formality in my case, since obviously the risk of surgery is far less than leaving the mass inside my body.
Well, f*ck.
Surgery has been pushed to the week of December 21st so the liver specialist can consult during the surgery. He's actually coming in on his day off, so that's pretty amazing. Haven't heard from surgery yet. Emailed my doctor to see what's up. Update 11:10am: My doctor's office emailed me back. We are working on the surgery schedule and we will let you know as soon as we have a date for you.
